1 · The aluminium pad

Seals the area around the valve hole and later joins both tape ends. The hole stays clear — nothing gets pierced.

2 · The rim tape

Seals the rim bed and spoke holes. It ends about 5 mm before the valve hole on each side — on the adhesive face of the aluminium pad.

3 · The closure patch

Seals the sandwich airtight over the valve. No sealant, no topping up.
